On this day, we honor our brave, fallen warriors who gave everything for the promise of a better world; a world in which “liberty and justice for all” were not just a catchy marketing pitch to tug on our heart strings, but that those fundamental guiding values would indeed prevail over the dark forces of tyranny and oppression.
This Memorial Day, we face an unprecedented attack. This attack is against not only our guiding principles as Americans, whom so many brave men and women fought and died to protect, but an attack against what we as human beings understand to be the difference between good and evil, which has stood since the dawn of human civilization.
We have witnessed the destruction of the family, of our children, and of our sovereign nations around the world. We have witnessed the poisoning of our bodies, our minds and our souls. And now we know, that while we slept soundly for generations in our unobservant bliss, the evil ones waged a hidden war against all of humanity. While we were busy minding our business and tending to our lives, they sought the absolute destruction of any remnant of decency remaining on God’s Earth.
But on this day, as we pray for the souls of our fallen, we seek to remind you that God has not left his cherished creations alone to fall to forces of darkness. He is with us every day. We must understand that without adversity, there is no growth. You see, God could have destroyed the evil one, and banished his wretched demons into eternal darkness. But if He did that, how would He separate the wheat from the chaff?
We are now at a critical point in human history, in which we must each decide if we are to be the nourishing kernel, or the discarded husk. We must stand strong against the darkness looming over this world, for it is witnessed, before The Creator, and before our honorable, fallen warriors, who are gatekeepers in the Kingdom of the Lord.
And if you should fall upon moments of weakness and frailty, remember that God always wins, and the dark ones always lose. If you look closely enough, you can already see the overwhelming sense of doom on their faces.
So let’s honor the fallen on this day, by standing together, in the face of adversity, and soldiering on to the top of the hill. May you be truly blessed with the strength, the courage and the wisdom needed to carry you through these historic times. And we will see you on the other side of this, as our victory against evil is inevitable.
