As you might already know, the American medical industry is littered by overwhelmingly anti-gun practitioners. Many physicians groups are lobbying Congress for permission and funding to study “gun violence” as a public health issue. That is why the irony of the following is as humorous as it is alarming. In a recent study by Johns Hopkins University, deaths caused by “preventable medical errors” are now the third-ranking cause of death in the US.
Statistically-speaking, it may actually be safer to smoke a pack-a-day than it is to go to the doctor for a “routine procedure”. According to the study results, absent-minded medical professionals kill about 900% more Americans than die of all “gun violence” combined, including suicides by gun, which make up about half of all gun-related deaths. Furthermore, “gun violence” did not even make the top 10 list on this study… with the flu killing nearly twice as many people as “gun violence” did.
It is definitely food for thought for the next time your doctor offers you a shot, a prescription or a “routine procedure” to cure your ailments. It also makes for a nice rebuttal the next time you hear a would-be gun-grabber falsely parroting that our country is plagued by “gun violence”.
Perhaps if the medical community really wants to save lives and benefit public health, they can butt out of politics, look closer to home and focus on the job we are paying them handsomely to perform.
The gun grabbers always complain about how many people die from guns, but they never want to admit to how many more die when guns are taken away. Tyrannical governments have sent hundreds of millions of their own people to slaughter in the past century alone. I’d rather take my chances with the infinitesimally small risk associated with having freedom, than have a guarantee of tyranny and mass murder that always follows disarmament.
Sad but true… I trust doctors about as much as I trust lawyers and politicians.
